iport manages the underlying transaction flow so that single transactions can be used to update multiple underlying datasets thereby connecting legacy systems through one browser interface.
The browser technology also allows remote access to these legacy systems, some of which do not support remote connectivity (

By using browsers, the cost of licenses for software can be maximised; it is well known that 80% of users only need 20% of the functionality.
Therefore, by delivering this through the Portal, the cost per user diminishes rapidly whilst acceptance and functionality increases dramatically.
